The first step in our stone works creation process is Design and Templating. A GT engineer will come to your installation’s location and use state-of-the art laser scanning systems to create a template of your kitchen, bathroom, or any other room you want to have stone installed in. All on-site work can be completed within a few hours.
Then, this template is brought into a Computer Assisted Design (CAD) program so its design can be adjusted with precision to fit the shape of the places where the stone will be installed. The process insures that our stone works will always fit seamlessly in your home or business, just the way they’re meant to!
Once the template and design has been completed, your stone is ready for fabrication! Most fabrications take between 2 and 5 days, depending on the complexity of the design. The major cuts to the stone will be made first, followed by any special customer requests like Mitered edges. Once the cuts are completed, your stone is polished and sealed for an extra level of protection against water and surface damage.
Larger projects like full height countertops and backsplashes often take more than one day, which will be accounted for in the planning process. Although GT StoneWorks does not do plumbing work, we will attach sinks into your new kitchen or bathroom countertops which will be ready for plumbing as soon as we finish your installation.
